Welcome to Open Oak Farm

Grains, Beans, and Winter Vegetables are Our Specialties

We are a new farm dedicated to helping folks in the Willamette Valley eat a little closer to home. Located near Crawfordsville, Oregon, we aim to fill people's bellies with high quality staple foods.

On our 20 acres, we grow a wide variety hard red and soft white wheat, rye, barley, buckwheat, dry corn,  and more, as well as a diverse collection of beautiful dry beans. We also grow over 30 types of winter vegetables and the full variety of summer vegetables.

Our grains are now available for sale through our CSA as our Grain Share, at local seasonal markets and for local pickup in Eugene via the Willammete/Eugene Local Foods websites. The Grain Share contains 70 lbs. of a combination of the whole grains mentioned above, with one-time distributions. This share is suitable for people with access to a mill and/or people that want to sprout their grains before cooking.

2010 Winter Vegetable CSA was a great success! With almost 50 families the 16 week winter season pumped out vegetables from mid-November 2010 through mid-March 2011. We will be doing it again this year.  For the 2011 Winter CSA we will expand to 80 or more shares and drop site locations for 2011 will be in Eugene, Corvallis, Albany, and at the farm.

We are now preparing for our 2011 Main Season CSA, and coming this autumn we will begin our Grain and Bean CSA, with regular distributions of milled flours.
